SLOVENIA - Moravče

Town Moravce lies in the center of Slovenia. Town consists of a number of smaller hamlets. Each hamlet has a couple of houses and when you add them together, Moravče has approximately 4850 inhabitants.

The surroundings are splendid. It has a hilly landscape with many forests and meadows; a lot of green and a beautiful little river. Moravče is built on some mountain slopes and from several places; you can see the complete village.

One of the biggest attractions is the splendid castle that is used for all kinds of activities: concerts, weddings and as a house. The castle, both construction and institution, is authentic and shows how people worked and lived there in earlier times.

Many inhabitants have, besides their job in the city, a small farm where they keep some animals, work on the land and have a garden.

There is enough wood in the surroundings to ensure that the people can stoke their stoves in wintertime. The infrastructure is excellent. Although high in the mountains, the houses are provided with all public utilities (water, sewerage, electricity, telephone etc.) and the roads are of an excellent quality. In the past, the municipal authorities decided to provide these supplies so that people would keep their houses in the mountains, because they can travel easily and quickly to the city.

The greatest advantage is that people themselves maintain the area and the farmers do not need subsidies to be able to continue their company in the mountains. The village has a good supply level: a town hall, kindergarten, schools for children until 16 years, supplies for the elderly, shops for the daily needs, a mail agency, bank etc.
