Charter Schools in Comenius Project
The Application for a Comenius Programme was officially
approved for the Primary School of Nadur (Gozo, Malta), member
of the Charter. They have been granted funds from the EU to
coordinate this partnership (September 2008 –August 2010) with
other schools in England, Lithuania, Italy, Sweden and Turkey.
The partner schools in England, Sweden and Lithuania also
come from the charter members of Desborough, Ockelbo and Zagare
respectively.
This is the first time for the town of Nadur to be working so
close with the charter members on an education level for two
years. This will enhance and strengthen the collaboration that
already exists.
The Life Long Learning programme entitled
‘Networking Minds’
involves extra-curricular activities for teachers, pupils and
parents, and the community as a whole. Together they will share
their methodology and ideas mainly through IT and work on a
European dimension.
Besides regular meetings, video conferences and final end
project products, these charter schools will organise several
teachers’ and pupils’ exchange visits as well.
The Project coordinators are Mrs. Ines Buttigieg and Mrs
Jeanette Farrugia from the Nadur Primary.
